Classification: Center Class IV
Start date: Immediate
Schedule: Part-time, on call; includes evening performances. May include weekend competitions. Expect approximately 12 performances between November 2024 and June 2025.
Rate of pay: $25.96 per hour
Benefits: Does not meet the required minimum hours to qualify for benefits or retirement

JOB GOAL: Under the direction of the vocal music teacher(s), accompany school choirs during rehearsals and concerts, assist the director in the leading of section rehearsals and concerts, and the coaching of individuals and small ensembles, and perform other related duties as required.
DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to:
- Accompany choral ensemble rehearsals during scheduled class time and performances, led by choral directors.
- Accompany choral groups in a variety of settings for the purpose of ensuring professional musical support for students and instructors; includes off site performances at a variety of festivals.
- Analyze assigned music prior to rehearsal and performances to ensure efficient use of rehearsal time and performance schedules.
- Assist choral directors with a variety of student related activities for the purpose of supporting and ensuring the success of the school music program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated ability to play piano music of moderate difficulty
- Flexibility, sight-reading and simple improvisatory abilities
- Willingness to work an “on call” schedule, understanding that attendance would be required for rehearsals and evening performances
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Possess good organizational and communication skills
EDUCATION: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE: Previous related experience preferred.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete required Vector trainings within the first 10 days of employment.
- Criminal history clearance through Washington State Patrol and FBI. Fingerprinting cost is the responsibility of the employee.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years’ work experience with small or large groups of children preferred.
