Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A valid Washington State teaching certificate with Reading endorsement. At District discretion, applicable recent coursework and/or training may replace required Reading endorsement. 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in providing instruction in reading foundational skills and/or math using a variety of structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess students using a variety of methods and analyze results for intervention.
  • Minimum three (3) years recent and successful classroom teaching experience at K-4 OR three (3) years recent and successful experience in providing K-4 intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide reading and/or math intervention in grades K-4.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide intervention services in an inclusionary manner within the classroom.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all school teams, community stakeholders and administrators.
  • Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through the use of technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct a screening process and placement of students in the Title I and/or LAP program and/or ML program.
  • Candidate has not received notice of nonrenewal from the Ridgefield School District pursuant to RCW 28A.405.220.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide reading and/or math intervention instruction for identified students in an inclusionary manner.
  • Collaborate with building principals and intervention specialists regarding student learning and instructional needs within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
  • Participate in MTSS meetings to identify issues or needs, set goals, and problem solve with teachers.
  • Assist with assessing students as necessary to diagnose needs of students to qualify for programs within MTSS.
  • Assist teachers in interpreting assessment data and student work (to use results for instructional decision-making).
  • Periodically model and co-plan lessons and/or periodic co-teaching of lessons for the classroom teacher’s professional development to better serve students receiving Title I/LAP/ML services.
  • Provide mentoring/coaching support to K-4 teachers that improves their instructional practice to increase Title 1/LAP/ML students’ achievement in the core areas of reading, math and English language development.
  • Develop and/or provide professional development for/with colleagues in keeping with assignment.
  • Participate in professional development activities with colleagues (conferences, workshops) as applicable to assignment.
  • Supervise and provide direction for paraprofessional support of instruction.
  • Notify appropriate authority immediately in the event of any incident occurring on school premises.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the District.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent pertinent to Title I/LAP/ML.

Compensation & Benefits:

 

Retirement: Does not meet the minimum required hours to be eligible for retirement. 

Benefits: Employees who are anticipated to work at least 630 hours may be eligible for health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life, and disability insurance benefits through the Washington State Health Care Authority and the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Detailed information can be found here. This position is not anticipated to reach 630 hours. 

 

Rate of pay: $173.81 per day for the first 20 consecutive days; placement on the REA Salary Schedule beginning day 21. (Based on exerience, degree, and credits)

Assignment Dates: 04/06/2025 - 06/12/2025

Hours: 8:35 am - 4:05 pm
