Hourly rate of pay: $36.40 - $45.50, depending on prior verified like experience

Job Goal: The site-based nurse works collaboratively with the student health and education team to provide routine limited nursing care to students consistent with program procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold or eligible to hold a valid Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license (preferred) .
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
Essential Functions:
May include, but are not limited to:
- Respond to the medical needs of students in the health room and/or classroom, consistent with the Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individual Health Plan (IHP), and/or Emergency Care Plan (ECP).
- Assess and provide for the basic needs of students, and critical needs of students with life-threatening medical conditions requiring ongoing physical assessment, nursing treatments, and medication administration.
- Provide invasive care within scope of practice (e.g. catheterization of students, rectal administration of diazepam, g-tube feedings, etc).
- Document student care administered as part of the student health plan.
- Collect health care data provided for assigned students.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication between interdisciplinary team members to meet students' goals.
- Administer drugs, medications, treatments, tests, injections, and inoculations under the direction of an authorized health care practitioner or RN.
- Provide student medical status report to the district nurse.
- Collect, evaluate, and record immunization status, following up with parents/guardians on non-compliance and notifications of exclusion from school in accordance with state, federal, and school district policy.
- Notify appropriate authority immediately in the event of any incident occurring on school premises.
- Perform physical tasks, including repeated lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
Other Functions:
- Attend to the physical needs of students, including moving and positioning students & assisting with personal hygiene needs.
- May work with specialized medical equipment used by student to ensure that equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide positive behavior management support.
- Assist with school receptionist duties as needed, including: answering phones and forwarding calls; greeting visitors in a friendly manner; gathering information and relaying messages.
- Assist students with information regarding a wide variety of school-related matters.
- Assist in processing student records requests as directed.
- Assist other office personnel as directed.
- Perform related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to use purposeful and reflective judgement for decision making in response to events, observations, experiences, and verbal or written expressions.
- Knowledge of, and ability to carry out, District/building rules, policies and procedures.
- Possess competent record keeping skills.
- Possess computer skills/experience, including but not limited to Skyward, Google,

- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff and the general public.

- Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to attend pertinent trainings and workshops.
- Ability to update skills as required.
- Willingness to obtain and keep current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Consistent, reliable attendance according to established work schedule is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
- Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene needs, including but not limited to: tube-feeding, catheterization, toileting.
- Sit, stand, and stoop to attend to student's needs and to provide instruction.
- Ability to physically move and/or lift equipment using established procedures.
- Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.
- Ride school bus with students to and from school as needed.
