Pay:

$18.30 Class II Para assignments (General Ed Instructional, Low Needs Special Ed, Recess/cafeteria supervision, etc.)

$19.60 Class I Para assignments (High Needs Special Education)

 

Education:

Minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Experience:

Two years of work experience with small or large groups of children.

Pre-employment Requirements:

Must pass Washington State Patrol and FBI background check. Fingerprinting to be completed at ESD 112 at the employee's expense.

Must complete required training as assigned by the District. 

Must have the ability to access the web-based sub finder application, Red Rover.

 

  

Duties:

  • Willingness to accept positions with little notice
  • Adhere to standards of confidentiality with regard to students and staff
  • Supervise students in designated locations, both indoors and outdoors, to ensure a safe and orderly environment in accordance with District and school rules and regulations.
  • Track student progress data under the direction of the teacher
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and grade any student work for teachers as directed
  • Assist with any student and classroom behavior management as directed
  • Assist with clerical work as assigned
  • Operate and maintain office/computer equipment as assigned
  • Notify appropriate authority immediately in the event of any incident occurring on school premises
  • Perform physical tasks, including repeated lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods
  • Perform related duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to carry out the policies and procedures of the school relative to student safety and behavior management
  • Ability to work instructionally, one-on-one or in small groups with students as directed by certificated teacher
  • Ability to communicate and carry out District/building rules, regulations and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults
  • Ability to problem-solve as needed
  • Possess competent record keeping skills
  • Possess competent organization skills
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff and the general public
  • Ability to accurately read, write and compute per instructional needs
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be highly self-directed
  • Ability to perform basic computer program functions
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Ability to perform basic clerical functions
  • Ability to life and carry weights up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Reliable attendance according to schedule of accepted assignment
