JOB GOAL:  The School Psychologist provides professional services to assist parents and school personnel in meeting the educational, social, emotional, behavioral and mental health needs of students by providing behavioral and academic assessment, intervention design with system level support and consultation.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Educational Staff Associate (ESA) School Psychologist certification for the State of Washington or certification in process through OSPI.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of current State and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated evidence of effectively working with students, parents and staff.
  • Knowledge of appropriate standards and ability to integrate into practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to modify practice to improve student learning.
  • Experience using the IEP-Online system, or equivalent.
  • Training and/or experience in instructional and/or management strategies in PBIS, Collaborative Problem Solving, TEACCH, ABA, visual systems/learning, assistive technology, social thinking, social emotional learning, curriculum adaptations, social skills instruction, Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS).
  • Experience and training in CPI nonviolent crisis intervention techniques or equivalent process.
  • Demonstrated competency with data tracking systems, IEP Development using computer supports such as Excel, Word, etc.
  • Advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through the use of technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize caseloads
  • Candidate has not received notice of nonrenewal from the Ridgefield School District pursuant to RCW 28A.405.220

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides academic, cognitive, and behavioral assessments for student’s pre-K through 21
  • Facilitates student focused behavioral support team meetings, evaluations, and planning.
  • Lead team meetings with classroom staff to formulate intervention strategies for individual students
  • Develop individual, group or system level interventions, which improve the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs as they relate to the educational progress of students
  • Provides consultation to parents, teachers, other school personnel, and community agencies, as appropriate, to improve student outcomes
  • Actively engage students in using technology in individual and collaborative learning activities
  • Works in a flexible and cooperative manner with parents, teachers, administrators, support staff, and community to advocate for students
  • Treats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
  • Participates in personal professional development and maintains membership in related professional organization(s)
  • Use computer technology and computer programs to document data collection
  • Meets the district, state, and federal timelines and legal requirements for reporting and record keeping
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Preferred Experience and Training:

  • Experience using the IEP-Online system
  • Experience with Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
  • Experience with School-Wide Information System (SWIS)
  • Competency with computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, etc., for data tracking and communications
  • Demonstrated competency with the use of verbal and written communication

 

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to drive to various locations within the District
  • Must provide own transportation

  

ESTIMATED START DATE: 8/31/2021 with TRI days starting 8/25/2021.  Induction dates: August 19, 20, 23, and 24.
